Monday 6th September – bike **** – Around Felixstowe including breakfast at the water ski benches – sunny periods and warm.

We were keen to get out on our bikes today as the last time they were used was on Saturday 21st August so we packed our breakfast and headed to the water ski jetty to make the most of the latest mini heatwave! We did not leave home until 9.30 and found it was a day of hazy sunshine with light airs, perfect cycling weather as we headed along the prom at Felixstowe all the way to Felixstowe Ferry stopping only to take a few pics. Out onto the River Deben path passing several walkers, it was low going with all this dry weather the path is very bumpy! The water ski jetty which has been on its last legs for several week now has been removed but luckily the picnic benches are still here so we enjoyed our breakfast with just a few terns as company! We had a nice chat with a couple doing along walk with their lovely dog who loved having a dip in the river before taking the first turning to Falkenham Church. Then back the usual way across bridle ways and footpaths via Kirton and Trimley. Again, no deer spotted, haven’t seen them for ages now but saw several young pheasants disappearing into a field of corn! Couldn’t face the extra cycle to the viewing point today so went with Mag the Morrisons way, we were out for over three hours travelling nearly 14 miles. Home for lunch and then exercises in the garden with the sun still hazy, similar weather for a couple of days with hopefully some foiling breeze from Wednesday???
